A grocery robot at Love Tomorrow, Tomorrowland 2026
Summer is festival season, and we like taking our robots into the field. AZorg invited us to Love Tomorrow, the sustainability and innovation platform of Tomorrowland. We brought the grocery demo, festival edition: visitors spin a wheel of fortune, and the robot finds the prize, grasps it and hands it over. Fully autonomous.
Spin the wheel
The demo builds on the grocery robot we showed at imec ITF World 2026. On top of a FANUC collaborative robot, we built the sensing, AI and planning ourselves. The robot recognises the objects on the table, estimates their pose and plans its motions in real time. Human detection lets it work safely next to a festival crowd. Dries, Andreas and Francis were at the booth.
From festival grounds to hospital corridors
A festival is a stress test for robot perception. The AI that handles the lighting variations at Tomorrowland is the AI that robot helpers in our hospitals will need. AZorg brought us along to make that link tangible. Next to our robot, AZorg presented digital health from Powerful Medical and 3D printing from PrintPlace. We joined Love Tomorrow together with Ghent University and imec.
