2026 VALE Workshop

We are pleased to announce the Fourth International Workshop on Value Engineering in AI (VALE ‘26), which will take place in Bremen, Germany, as part of the 35th International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 15-17 August 2026.
VALE ‘26 brings together researchers working on one of the most important challenges in contemporary AI: ensuring that intelligent systems are aligned with human values. As AI becomes increasingly embedded in everyday life, the need for systems that are ethical, trustworthy, and socially responsible continues to grow. The workshop focuses on how AI can identify, represent, reason about, and act in accordance with human values. This year’s edition also highlights emerging areas such as generative and physical AI systems.
VALE 2026 is the fourth edition of the workshop series; the growth of this community reflects the increasing importance of interdisciplinary research at the intersection of AI, ethics, and human values.
Interested in contributing? Submit your work by 15 May 2026 (AoE). We also welcome early-stage works and late-breaking results. More information is available at the workshop website.
We look forward to seeing you in Bremen and discussing the future of value engineering in AI!
